Domaine des Deux Vallées

France · Loire Valley

Located in Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné within the Anjou region near Angers, Domaine des Deux Vallées derives its name from its unique position between the Loire River and its tributary, the Le Layon. Since restructuring the 44-hectare property in 2001, René Socheleau and his son Philippe have focused on elevating the estate by building a modern cellar and replanting much of the vineyard to prioritize Chenin Blanc over Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. This dedication to Chenin Blanc is most evident in their prized Savennières plots, situated remarkably close to the legendary Coulée de Serrant vineyards. While René manages the vines, Philippe has refined his winemaking expertise to produce a portfolio where the dry Savennières stands as the estate's ultimate expression, supported by Anjou Blanc and Rouge bottlings that serve as quintessential introductions to the region's classic styles.
