Federico Orsi, born in Bologna and raised in Brazil, left behind a business career path to purchase Azienda Agricola San Vito in 2005, transforming it into a biodynamic estate near Monteveglio. With no prior winemaking experience, he embraced minimal intervention methods, converting the vineyards immediately and producing natural wines by 2009. Today, the estate spans 15 hectares (owned and rented), with a focus on the native Pignoletto grape for his traditional bottle-fermented sparkler Sui Lieviti and the elegant single-vineyard Vigna del Grotto. He also crafts Posca Bianca and Posca Rossa in a perpetual solera-like system, alongside reds from Negretto, Barbera, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Beyond wine, Orsi operates an agriturismo, co-owns a restaurant in Bologna, farms produce for local kitchens, and actively promotes biodynamics through Renaissance des Appellations.
