Quinta do Infantado, long owned by the Roseira family and based in Pinhão’s prized Gontelho subdistrict, has been a pioneer in estate-bottled Ports since 1979, breaking from the old system that forced producers to ship and bottle in Vila Nova de Gaia. Today, siblings João and Catherine Roseira continue the tradition, farming steep, terraced vineyards with classic methods to produce distinctive “meio-seco” (medium-dry) Vintage Ports. They only declare a vintage when quality is beyond doubt, resulting in deeply characterful wines that stand apart in style and integrity.
