Tim Smith grew up in Adelaide and worked as a roadie for rock bands before entering the wine industry. He founded Tim Smith Wines in 2001, building upon his 20-plus years of experience working for other Barossa Valley producers. Tim Smith Wines focuses on wines that showcase the Barossa's strengths, particularly Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro, and Riesling. His approach emphasizes quality fruit, a hands-off approach in the winery, and a focus on creating wines that are authentic, delicious, and enjoyable. He draws inspiration from the wines of the Rhône Valley in France, but also respects the unique Barossa style.
